Lisa Franco’s Story

I gave my Angels on the Street to a single mother who works at my favorite breakfast restaurant. I took the ladies from my family out to breakfast on Black Friday to this restaurant. All the years I have been going there, I had never seen this waitress before, I asked if she was new and she told me she’d been working there a few years now, but we always miss each other due to schedules (I only go there on Saturday mornings, her day off). We got to talking about Thanksgiving (as the restaurant was open) and Christmas shopping. She mentioned she worked Thanksgiving day and that she has just been struggling financially and didn’t have much of a Thanksgiving and wasn’t ready for Christmas and is trying to do the best she can. She basically just broke down and said and she can barely afford Christmas-a tree & presents and the things her kids want are expensive. When it came time to pay for our bill, she brought my card and receipt back I handed her the signed copy, her tip and the Angels on the Street Envelope. She thought I had given her something by mistake, I told her no that the envelope was for her and she opened it and was so emotional-I said “go make it an amazing Christmas for your babies!” She asked why her….I told her I worked for an amazing company Payday HCM (based out of Albuquerque, New Mexico) and this is something we do this time of year and she was extremely grateful and she was speechless, all she could say was “THANK YOU” so many times.
