I was driving past a park close to downtown and saw a long line forming. After further investigation I found out the line was for the bus to take the homeless to the shelter due to the weather. The first people in line were a couple with two small children. I walked up and said hello – they were a bit guarded. I handed them the envelope, smiled, and turned to walk away. I didn’t stick around to see their reaction, but when I got back to my car and looked over, both adults were smiling. Angels on the Street made a difference not only to that couple but to me as well. It is better to give than to receive.
