This young lady’s plan was to put herself through school, obtain her degree, get married, and have a beautiful family. She accomplished the first three with flying colors. Unfortunately, life did not turn out as she planned.

One week before her wedding she was diagnosed with a rare form of leukemia, and will suddenly making multiple trips to Houston for chemotherapy. She will be needing a stem cell transplant when she goes into remission. While no amount of money can bring back her health, any financial support has been greatly needed and appreciated.

Seeing her wedding picture, you would never imagine the news she had just received a week earlier. I chose this recipient because I know firsthand how devastating an unexpected illness can be emotionally, physically and financially.
