Michelle K.’s Story: Gratitudes goes both ways when giving to others

I was able to give mine out at church this last Sunday.  I was just observing all of the people out in the foyer and enjoying some coffee. There was a family with a mom, dad and three small children.  All of the kids were under 5. They had just come out of the children’s area and were so excited about their gifts they were able to make to give to their parents. The church was giving out hot chocolate. They were all just enjoying it and hanging out visiting with each other as if they don’t get to experience that kind of warmth from the facility, the hot chocolate, and the people.  The parents just looked very tired. Their clothes and shoes looked old, but those were probably their best clothes. I don’t know why I felt drawn to them. I could just tell these were parents who were trying their best and trying to give their children the best they could. They were taken aback when I approached them and asked if they had just come out of the church service. They were so guarded when I spoke with them. What would this woman want with us? It was interesting to see their response. I told them that I would like to give them a gift. I handed them the envelope and told them there was $100 inside. Immediate tears and hugs!! They said that I had no idea how much this would help them. They were just so grateful and kept thanking me. I walked away fairly quickly afterwards because I thought I might fall apart. It was awesome!

Thank you Payday HCM for letting me have this wonderful experience!
