This year I spoke to a friend that had come on some pretty hard times and had come to mind when considering the “family” we usually sponsor for Christmas… I had not got around to talking to the person in charge of organizing the project for the year. As we went into our meeting which was about “Angels on the Street” I was reminded that even though we all face struggles, if we take the time to step out of “me” we will find many in need for various reasons. I left that meeting feeling such joy as I was reminded that I am very thankful and have been blessed in so many ways.
I gave the $100.00 to my friend whose heart was very heavy as she was going to go back to a home that once full of love, family and memories built through the years held almost nothing as everything was given away. She was also blessed by others who made her homecoming something not to be dreaded and instead a place to build new beginnings.
