I gave my money to a man named Barney whom I met through a friend. He was a man who lost his job, was living out of his car, and was living by the library downtown. On the Sunday after we were given the money we were actually downtown and saw Barney walking around. That’s when I thought to myself that’s the man I’m going to give my money to. Maybe for a room, something to eat. When I gave it to him he looked down at the envelope and was like “ What is this?” and I told him to open it. When he realized that it was $100 he was like “this is $100”. He got tears in his eyes and was so appreciative. And I later found out a week after I gave him the money he had gotten a job at an electrical company. One of my friends was nice enough to let him stay with them while he’s trying to get on his feet. So that $100 could have been the turning point in his life. I’m glad I got to be a part of that.
Thank you Andy and Sylvana.
